Parish Church of St Andrew, Aysgarth The Churchyard |
|
Aysgarth has one of the largest churchyards in England. The main part of the churchyard is now closed for burials, except for those plots already reserved, and is now looked after by Richmondshire District Council. Details of all the graves (where decipherable) have been recorded, together with a detailed plan. This is invaluable for those wishing to de research on family or local history. The record is up to 1990. For information about this record, please contact the Benefice Office (Telephone 01969 663097) or click here to send an email request. There is a plot for current burials to the north side of the church. Below is a Google Map of the location of the church. You can use the navigation tools to look around the area on this page, or you can click on ‘View larger map’ to open up the full version of Google Maps with the church at the centre. |

There are two public footpaths which cross the churchyard: West to East which is part of the footpath from Aysgarth to Wensley and beyond to Middleham North to South a path which connects to the Yorkshire Dales National Park car park. This path leads South to Eshington Bridge and then to West Burton and beyond, and North to Carperby, then East to Castle Bolton or West to Askrigg. |
